Kyaw Htoo and his family live in Tompkins County and recently had some energy upgrades on their home through the Sustainable Finger Lakes Mobile Home Pilot Project.  They were the recipient of our 98th FLCF grant that went towards Halco replacing their old system with a new hot water heater and insulating the underbelly of their home. The new insulation and air sealing done on their home will keep 76 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere.

Kyaw Htoo and his wife have three daughters, with their youngest born only a few weeks ago!  Kyaw is grateful for the new water heater and is confident that it will warm the water for him and his family this upcoming winter.

According to Kyaw, Halco did good work and was very professional.  Since the underbelly of the house is quite low, the crew had to crawl underneath to complete the insulation.  “It is a very difficult job so thank you for that,” Kyaw said.  He is also grateful to the support from the  Empower plus program and Sustainable Finger Lakes throughout the entire process!
