Business and Organization Offsetters

Taking responsibility for our carbon emissions is not just up to individuals. Businesses, governments, campuses, institutions and nonprofits are also obligated to do their part when it comes to avoiding climate disruption.

In 2020 we began a new campaign just for offsetters at the organizational scale: the Finger Lakes Enterprises for Climate Action (FLECA). We are inviting businesses and organizations from across the region to join us in our mission to give carbon the boot, all while supporting lower-income families that live in those same communities.

These businesses range from regional service providers to sole proprietor startups. With everyone pitching in, we can make a significant impact and continue to change lives across the Finger Lakes. To learn more about getting your organization enrolled, just email info@fingerlakesclimatefund.org and we’ll get you started.

Halco

Our FIRST offsetter of Finger Lakes Enterprises for Climate Action!

Halco, one of our HeatSmart installer partners, has renewed their commitment to sustainability and local economic equity. After purchasing 35 new fuel-efficient Priuses for their fleet, they went even further and made a $1000 offset with the Climate Fund.

Thanks to their support, another Finger Lakes family will have renewable energypowered heating and cooling. Hats off to an amazing partner in the climate movement!

Paddle’N More

Paddle-N-More is making waves in the sustainability scene!

As an outdoor sports business, Paddle-N-More knows the value that clean air and water have in paddlesports and beyond. Their weeklong youth camps are a great introduction to outdoor recreation and cultivating a lifelong relationship with nature.

In a testament to their green mindset, they have donated $500 to offset carbon dioxide emissions from their operations! Amazing to see how in harmony these folks are with the beauty that surrounds us.

Odyssey

Odyssey Bookstore “is a local bookstore celebrating what is special and unique about our town,” which in large part is our role in the regional sustainability movement. They support a living wage for their employees, try their best to reduce their waste, and of course, offset their carbon emissions!

Odyssey opened their doors on June 23rd, 2020 and have been serving up books by local authors, bestsellers, and indoor accoutrements like jigsaw puzzles and calendars ever since.

Thank you for including us in your odyssey into the Ithaca community!

Rogues Harbor Inn

Rogues Harbor joins our crew at Finger Lakes Enterprises for Climate Action with an offset of 5 months of hotel energy. This historic, restored inn has been preserved and modernized for a boutique traveling experience to the Finger Lakes. We’re ecstatic that they’re decided to take responsibility locally for carbon emissions and help 5 families get clean energy heating!
