The Rudmin family generously offset the carbon emissions from their recent trip to Japan, which was a special visit to reconnect with family and have their children experience this part of their heritage.
“We’re happy to have a local carbon offset fund to contribute to and know that the benefits are tangible and are being enjoyed by members of our community in addition to the planet,” Katrina shared.
In addition to supporting the climate fund, the Rudmins are committed to sustainable food systems. As members of the New York Tree Crops Alliance, they grow hazelnuts and chestnuts on a small-scale farm, promoting perennial carbon-capturing agriculture. Their family’s choice to eat vegan is also driven by the environmental impact of animal agriculture.
