Our beautiful Finger Lakes Region is only just beginning to be impacted by climate change, but we will see our share of problems as weather extremes hit with increased flooding, damage to crops, more toxic algae blooms, and a tangled web of economic and social upheaval. This is the story of the Finger Lakes Climate Fund, a local carbon offset program that provides a way for people to take responsibility for their carbon emissions by making a donation that helps take carbon out of our atmosphere locally. The money goes out in grants to lower-income neighbors who need a little help to make their homes more energy efficient and to switch over to renewable energy sources.
