Empowering Communities through Energy Upgrades

The Tompkins County Mobile Home Energy Upgrades project funded heat pump installations for X mobile homes, significantly improving the health, safety, comfort, and affordability of these residences. This pilot initiative addressed the unique needs of low-to-moderate income residents in Tompkins County as New York State moves towards full electrification. Administered by Sustainable Finger Lakes and funded by the Tompkins Community Recovery Fund, the project highlighted mobile homes as a viable, affordable housing option while enhancing their energy efficiency and stability. The energy upgrades, including heat pumps and necessary electrical panel upgrades, were carried out by NYSERDA-certified contractors, ensuring quality and compliance with state guidelines. By reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions, this project supported sustainable living and economic stability for mobile home residents.
