Since its founding in 1984, Halco Energy has become the largest provider of home energy upgrades in Central New York. Their award-winning team improves more than 3000 homes per year. An active participant in New York State’s EmPower NY and Assisted Home Performance programs, Halco works hard to ensure that folks of all income levels have access to healthy, efficient homes. Halco’s “whole-house” approach starts with a detailed energy assessment to identify the best ways to reduce energy bills and improve comfort. They offer a wide range of green services, including insulation,
air-source and ground-source heat pumps, solar panels, and indoor air quality improvements.

Beginning in 2018, Halco joined forces with Snug Planet, an Ithaca-based insulation and heat pump contractor. The merger gave Halco a brick-and-mortar presence in Tompkins County. It also improved efficiency, allowing the Halco/Snug Planet team to serve more customers and further their shared mission of energy affordability and climate protection. National leaders in home electrification, the Halco/Snug Planet team regularly share their expertise through conference presentations, webinars, and articles.
